ABOUT US

Jen Lee’s career as a Toy Producer in Silicon Valley, just wasn’t quite maximizing her talent for invention and creativity. When she left Silly Valley behind and relocated to Los Angeles, CA, Jen dreamed of a different trade; one that would sweep her up and away from corporate America, and whisk her off to a place where the work of her eager hands would satisfy her potential, as well as delight the masses (well, at least whoever hops on the website).

One day, her super supportive husband secretly called up one of her friends, and asked her to throw Blue Sprinkle’s very first trunk show. When a location was confirmed in San Francisco, CA, Jen was both shocked and anxious. So, with much trembling anticipation, Jen journeyed up to Northern California, few expectations in hand and hoping to sell at least a few pieces. To her surprise and delight, the show was a huge success, as well as a huge encouragement to Jen. With newfound courage tucked securely under her belt, and armed with plenty of supportive friends and family, Blue Sprinkle’s website launched in December 2005.

Designer Jen Lee has been envisioning, designing, and hand-crafting jewelry for years.  Her keen eye for refreshing designs has inspired the ever-changing product line. But one thing that has remained constant is the clean, elegant look that has won over and earned her devoted following.

Today, Jen, the perfectionist, still carefully hand-crafts and plots out each piece with much detailed attention. She strives to touch every creation with a rare meticulousness, not to mention high quality parts, that make for distinctive accessories reverberating her personality, then in turn – yours. With the vehicles of design, size, and color, Blue Sprinkle’s accessories are never intended to speak louder than the exhibiter, rather to embellish and highlight your character.

Sharon Choe is just one of those girls. you think a ramekin is a sauce cup; she says it's for anything from creme brulee to eggs cocotte.  You say "po-tah-toe;" she says "la pomme de terre."  You enjoy downloading tunes to your ipod; she enjoys perfecting her vlookups and writing macros in excel.  She's a bay area girl with nor cal standards.  She loves the pakistani food of shalimar in fremont, and the tasting menu at manresa in los gatos.  Sharon laughs out loud (really loud), and tells you how she feels about you to your face and RIGHT when she feels it.  She loves food, shoes, and... did i say shoes?  Oh, but did i mention food?  To earn a living, she is working her dream job as an asst buyer for Williams-Sonoma, Inc.

At Blue Sprinkle, Sharon edits content, directs photo shoots, and sets up trunk shows.  Let's just say, in the words of the famous Jerry Macguire: Jen says to Sharon - "you complete me."

George Hsia

Where you're originally from and where did you grow up?  Born in South Africa and grew up in Southern California
What you do? 11th year at Sun Microsystems.  I'm a marketing techno-geek by trade, a photographer at heart
How'd you get into photography?  There's a quote from Ernst Haas, "There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are."  My camera gives me an outlet for self-expression and gives me an opportunity to explore my right brain.  I've found that the more I photograph the more I want to photograph.  To quote Ernst Haas again, "I am not interested in shooting new things - I am interested to see things new." Through it all, my goal is to bring glory to God.

What kind of photography do you most enjoy?  What kind of photography do you dislike?  I shoot just everything.  I enjoy the technical and artistic challenges the various forms of photography.  When I find one I dislike, I'll let you know.

What are your pet peeves?   When people tell me what I should photograph.  For me photography is personal.  If I didn't take a picture, there's probably a reason.

What are your hobbies/interests besides photography?  My faith is more important than my photography.  Between seeking Christ, photography and my daily duties of work and life I find little time to do much else.
